Many painters like to buy untreated linen blanks and make them by themselves. Whether it is suitable for personal production needs, or from the quality or economic point of view, it is more desirable. When shopping for canvas grey cloth in the shop, special attention should be paid to the identification of ingredients and quality, because some stores will also use blended and other linen fabrics as linen. When selecting, we can distinguish cotton, linen and blended fabrics by observing the difference of warp and weft yarn composition, the properties and strength of single strand fiber, and the weight and density of fabric. High quality linen has heavy weight, few surface defects, uniform fiber thickness, neat and dense. On the contrary, it will affect the aesthetic feeling of the texture of the picture, and the processing is particularly laborious. 
The frame canvas is sold by stretching the canvas on the inner frame of the standard oil painting. The unified specification and mass production of the framed canvas meet the general needs of the painter and students. At present, there are various kinds of small and medium sized framed canvases in China, but most of them are made of cotton cloth and only used as a simple acrylic primer for students' common practice. The quality is not fully in line with the requirements of professional use.
